The Ultimo Smile-Line Support™

Paranasal Implant · Nasolabial Folds
by dr. Enrina Diah, Sp.BP-RE, KKF & dr. Grace Boaz, Sp.BP-RE

The Ultimo Smile-Line Support™ — a paranasal implant at Ultimo Clinic — softens deep nasolabial folds (smile lines) at their root — a lack of bone projection in the area beside the nose (the paranasal / maxillary region). Rather than filling the crease from the surface, the implant adds structural support so the fold softens naturally and durably.

What It Addresses

EXPLAINED

Why Can Nasolabial Folds Be Deep?

In some people, the bone at the base of the nose is relatively flat or recessed. Without enough bony support, the soft tissue above “folds” and forms a deep nasolabial crease. Filler or fat can fill the crease, but it is often not enough because the structural problem is not addressed. A paranasal implant addresses the structural cause.

TREATING THE CAUSE, NOT THE CREASE

A paranasal implant is often relevant when nasolabial folds are not merely from sagging but from insufficient bony support. Through an incision inside the mouth, a silicone implant is inserted and securely fixed. It is often considered alongside rhinoplasty or chin augmentation for midface balance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a paranasal implant different from filler for nasolabial folds?
Filler fills the crease from the surface and is temporary. A paranasal implant adds the bone projection that causes the fold, so the result is more structural and long-lasting.

Generally yes — through an incision inside the mouth, so there is no scar on the facial skin.

The implant is long-lasting and can be removed if needed; the projection it provides is maintained long-term.
